A San Antonio family has taken legal action after their 3-year-old child was allegedly injured by a staff member at a local daycare facility. Ali Law Group, a personal injury law firm serving San Antonio and surrounding Texas communities, has filed a daycare injury lawsuit on behalf of the child's family in Bexar County's 288th Civil District Court. Houston-based Kherkher Garcia, LLP is co-counsel in the case.

The lawsuit names three defendants: Veronica Jimenez, a former employee of Kidus Daycare; Kidus Daycare; and the facility's parent company, JPR International, Inc. The family is seeking $1 million in monetary relief and has requested that a jury determine the final amount.

What the Family's Daycare Injury Attorneys Are Alleging

According to court documents, surveillance footage from inside the daycare facility appeared to show Jimenez pushing the child into classroom furniture. The lawsuit alleges the toddler's face and head struck exposed metal bars, causing the child to collapse and suffer a visible head wound.

The suit accuses both Jimenez and Kidus Daycare of gross negligence. The daycare and JPR International, Inc. face additional allegations related to failures in hiring, training, and staff supervision — a critical point under Texas daycare laws, which place a legal duty of care on facilities to protect the children they serve.

Texas law allows families to pursue legal action against both individual employees and the facilities that employ them when negligence leads to a child injury. A daycare injury lawyer can help families understand whether the facility's own failures — not just the actions of a single employee — contributed to what happened.

In this case, the family's legal team is arguing both. Jimenez faces allegations for her direct actions. Kidus Daycare and its parent company face allegations for the environment and practices that allowed those actions to occur.

On Behalf of Ali Law Group

This case is about more than one child. Families trust daycare facilities with the people they love most. When that trust is broken, Texas law provides a path to accountability — and families have every right to pursue it.
